Apart from this, get hold of mint leaves with stalks of around 75g and four large egg yolks. You will also need castor sugar of arund 140g and ice cream cones or bowls to serve the them in.

Here is how you can go about making your own of these.
- Freeze the chocolate for half an hour. Put it in a plastic bag and seal before doing so. When done, crush the frozen chocolate in the bag to get small chunks of it. You would need to ensure that the bag is completely sealed so as to ensure that nothing comes out of the bag, which may happen in the next step.
- Now, you need to put on your kitchen gloves and start to add the cream and milk in a pan. Add and scrape the seeds of the vanilla pod into the pan. Heat the mixture, stirring it from time to time till it comes to a boil.
- When done, add the stalks along with the mint leaves and cover the pan with a lid. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
- Remember that we had told you to get hold of some fresh mint leaves? If you’re making an ice cream recipe that involves mint, you would need the mint leaves. Now, get hold of it and press it into a spatula to extract all its flavour and strain the entire liquid. Remove the mint leaves and stalks and also the vanilla pod when done.
- Now heat the minty cream mixture in a clean pan and bring to a boil.
- Whisk the castor sugar and egg yolk together till it becomes thick.
- Now pour the hot minty cream over the thick egg and sugar mix. Whisk to combine it well and then add the liquid that remains. Cook this custard over low heat for around five minutes, stirring continuously till it thickens.
- When done, strain the custard in a bowl and let it cool. Stir from time to time. Let it chill in the refrigerator overnight.
- Use an ice-cream machine to churn the custard till it becomes frozen. Pour in pieces of chocolate just before it sets.
- Serve the yummy ice cream in bowls or cones
